Since I've just noticed most of my recent links shared through Shaarli are in English, and the fact that I'm on several other publication networks or social sites (Movim, Soup*, MstdnNl, Facebook...), I considering to only post in English onto my Shaaarli.

This might affect you if you read me from Shaarlo.fr (a very-nerdy & mostly-male Shaarli instances aggregator), and/or if can't read English.

* my Shaarli feed is replicated onto mpr.soup.io , with a hyperlink towards the original post on lienspersos.accessibilisation.net/shaarli/ .

NB2: I stopped publishing on Twitter (though I keep some lists), and I don't have an Instagram account (social network based on image-sharing, but I'm not a photograph and thus it doesn't interrest me).

IF you read not-encrypted feeds (URLs beginning with http:// ) through a news agreggator,
it means that your ISP knows that you somehow read this newspaper or weblog (because of DNS or direct access),
and really knows FOR SURE that you specifically read THIS section of information or category of posts.

But EVEN if you read those feeds via a secure connection (URLs beginning with https:// ),
your ISP still knows which domain names you asked to connect to because of SSL/TLS handshaking (the technical process to initiate an encrypted connection with a given domain name).

So, your ISP knows at least which newspapers you somehow read,
but you may PREVENT it (the I.S.P.) from knowing which sections you prefer, and "HIDE" any page or file you downloaded from this domain name.

=> Ask your favorite newspapers or bloggers to provide an httpS connection to them.
Or subscribe to a VPN provider, and use it with OpenVPN on your computer.

Je voudrais un agrégateur RSS multiplateforme et open-source, idéalement basé sur Thunderbird (car il cumule ces deux qualités).

Je connais déjà Thunderbird pour les courriels, mais c'est délicat de tout y concentrer, car messagerie et lecture sont deux choses bien différentes.

Pas de dépendance type Oracle Java, Adobe Air, Microsoft .NET...

(Un fork = programme dérivé d'un autre, basé sur son code source.)

MAJ : Sylpheed ne peut pas être utilisé uniquement comme agrégateur RSS. Je n'ai pas testé ClawMail, ni GNUs, ni Amarok. BottomFeeder semble abandonné. Je teste SeaMonkey de Mozilla comme suite Internet (agrégateur RSS, courrielleur, butineur avec JS désactivé par défaut...) et j'utilise surtout le client RSS.

Et Fessenheim (dans une moindre mesure).. hum ?
